"All I need today is a little bit of coffee, and a whole lot of Jesus." That's what the sign reads in my kitchen, and I honestly believe it. Growing I was raised Catholic, and I'm so thankful that my parents sent us to CCD, and that we attended church every Sunday. Now this post isn't to start a debate on religious views, or to preach the Bible to you or anybody reading. Instead I'm briefly touching on how thankful I am for His love, and to teach you all about my love for French Press coffee.

I am beyond thankful for the life that God and my parents have given me. Teaching me about his love, and that He is always there when I need him through the good and the bad. So with that being said Sunday is not only His day, but also mine. It's the only day I don't work, and normally I have the mornings to myself while the house is still asleep. During this time I make my beloved coffee, reflect on my past work week along with preparing myself for the upcoming week. I also take the time to read my daily scripture from my Bible Day by Day that my daddy got me, along with reading the scripture of the day from She Reads Truth. While I will not preach the bible, nor my religion I do encourage anybody to visit She Reads Truth, it is amazing and a great way to start my day.

Now on to the second part of this post; French Press coffee. I had my first french press when Ryan and I went to Mexico last July. The house we rented did not have a coffee maker, but I quickly learned how to make french press, and I fell in love!! This past Christmas I bought Ryan a french press, needless to say, we were both thrilled. I found out the hard way that you couldn't use regular coffee grounds for a french press, so off to the store I went. I went to Fresh Thyme here in Lafayette, and was excited to discover that I was able to grind my choice of coffee beans specifically for a french press! Praise Jesus!! So I chose Costa Rican coffee beans, because Ryan swears up and down that Costa Rican coffee is the best coffee ever!

Here comes the best part; how to make a French Press Coffee!! I got this stainless steel coffee measuring scoop at Walmart, I personally recommend that every coffee drinker has one. So first, I put three scoops of my freshly course ground coffee beans into the glass carafe. I then boil a small pot of water, once the water is boiling a pour it over the coffee beans, put the topper on and let it steep for 5-7 minutes. After the coffee has steep, SLOWLY push the plunger down, pushing all the coffee grounds to the bottom. Your coffee is now ready. I am lactose intolerant, and I've found that the Natural Bliss Almond Milk Creamer works best for me!

Congratulations, you've just made your very first french press coffee!! I hope you love it as much as Ryan and I have! If you have any questions about anything or feedback, please feel free to comment below!
